About Me

My photo
I'm originally from smoggy L.A. but now live in sunny Honolulu. I've been living here for 20 years, and it seems like it'll be another 19. I have an awesome daughter). I also work with psychiatric kids(yikes!)I'm not complicated although one would think so and am pretty easy to get along with (unless you mess with my kid). I hate phoniness - so don't pretend to like me and then talk smack behind my back. Or pretend to like someone else, but talk smack to me about them. My family's my core and my close friends are my ice cream toppings. Everyone should have a little bit of dimsum in their lifetime. I also refer to myself as an "organic temple". Be green. Be organic. Be nice.

A BUSY WEEKEND OFF

I had the weekend off (usually work on Saturdays)and spent it enjoying the Xmas activities. 1st we watched the Nutcracker on Saturday. The Hawaii State Ballet performed at Mamiya Theatre at St. Louis. I already had the nutcrackers out for Xmas, and thought that Ashly was of the age where she could enjoy it. It was a very good performance although Willie was nodding off and on. Ash fell asleep at the last 15 minutes of the 2hour performance.

Sunday we went to the Honolulu Academy of Arts. The 3rd Sunday is free and hosts Keiki Actities. Free is always good and Ash is age appropriate for the activities. We did everything from the jumper (her favorite)to arts and crafts to a magic show. She was really well behaved.

Later, I wanted to watch the Xmas syncronized swimming performance held at the Makiki Pool. Willie told me it was probably a bunch of senior citizens. I didn't believe him. I remember watching water ballet as a youngster at our community pool, olymic competions and in movies. I love it! Well, it was extremely hot and Willie whipped out the umbrella. It got crowded on the bleachers and to my amazement, it was very much, the Seniors! And more like just a couple floating here and there. We left mid-way very disappointed. Perhaps I shall join and show them how it's really done. They're called the Mermaids. I could be the Princess Mermaid.

We went home and made one of my favorite holiday foods: dumplings. Just potato and flour. Ashly made her own (1" compared to the usualy softball size my grandma used to make). She ate 2 and wanted to eat one of the bigger ones. But it was too much. Of course, you all know, everything I make is "carb free". Unfortunately, I have to work the entire weekend this weekend to be off for Xmas Eve and Xmas Day. YUCK.
