When I was little, I was given Magic Rocks. I'm not sure who gave it to me, or where it came from, but I remember dumping the colorful rocks into the container, adding water and anxiously awaiting for the "magic". Hence, there never was since I didn't read the instructions (maybe I was too young & didn't know how to read, yet) and had I done so, would've know that there were a few steps to be had.
Well, upon my last visit to Cali, my brother gave me a box of goodies that he and his g-friend Bren picked up for us. Amazingly, there was a box of "magic rocks". I was excited to have a second chance with them. Ashly helped me and after reading all the instructions, doing what it said, our rocks grew....magically....within minutes. They are still thriving.
There was also another Sea Monkey set. Some of you know that I started one and they thrived for about 6 months and then died off. It was very sad. I hesitate to start them over again as I am still grieving.....
On a happier note, the newest set of guppies I purchased are still alive and going strong. Ashly didn't want any more when I asked her what fish we should get. She said, "why? they just die". So, I opted for not so pretty, but hearty guppies. I would love to have a salt-water tank with all the colorful fish and seahorse, but that's way too much maintenance.

Lastly, one of our neighbors always brings me herbs, fruits and veggies from her community garden. Check out this avocado. It tasted great, especially lathered up in mayo.
